Whilst training as a Montessori teacher in 1991, Jo Marie worked for a complementary health clinic specialising in sports injuries. It was during this period that she gained an interest in a variety of massage techniques, healing methods (such as reiki and qigong), and child psychology. Intrigued by the body, mind, health connection, in 1997, she studied psychotherapy and classical hypnosis with Peter J Millin at the Academy of Hypnotherapy in North London. In the year 2000, inspired by her successes with reiki and hypnotic techniques in which she helped both patients and children overcome a host of problems, ranging from bereavement, pain control, and nocturnal enuresis (child bed wetting ) , Jo Marie went on to study at the Institute of Clinical Hypnosis at London’s Kings College, gaining diplomas in Psychotherapy and achieving the level of Master Clinical Hypnotherapist.
